- Neighboring Locations: Bordering Kachia LGA to the North, Jaba LGA to the East, and sharing a significant border with the Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) to the South, and Niger State to the West.

Location
Kagarko Local Government is strategically located as the "Gateway to Kaduna State" from the nation's capital. It shares vital borders with the FCT (Abuja), making it a critical hub for the supply of agricultural produce to the capital city. This prime location, coupled with highly fertile lands and a favorable moisture profile, has made Ginger and Yam production the backbone of our economy.
Climate
Kagarko enjoys a tropical climate with moderate temperatures. The high rainfall in the southern part of the LGA supports the growth of root crops and forest-based agriculture.
Main Economic Activities
- Farming: Leading producer of Ginger, Turmeric, and Yams in Nigeria.
- Livestock Rearing: Significant cattle and poultry populations.
- Trading: The Iddah Market and Kagarko Central Market are major commercial hubs for traders from Abuja and the North.
